Kate Cobb

Kate’s Story:   From Disability to a Thriving Home-based Business

About Me

When you’ve read my story, you’ll see that I’m persistent and determined! I use these qualities working with women entrepreneurs and solo professionals who need a hand finding their way through a business block or a way forward with a business challenge so they can achieve their goals.  I have 30 years’ experience empowering women through coaching and training, as a woman entrepreneur myself. I help clients get clear on their goals and put powerful action plans into place so they can live the lives they’ve always dreamed of.  Originally from Manchester in UK, I lived in London for many years whilst working internationally and finally came to the South of France 15 years ago. I live with my four cats, who all found me. I am a passionate choral singer and use my management talents to organise choral and orchestral events in the region.

Another “Turning Points” review:

“Turning Points is a riveting read! These stories read like best selling fiction, yet they are real people facing unbelievable circumstances.  These entrepreneurs have not only survived, they have risen up above their challenges like a phoenix! I found myself incredulous, and inspired by the courage and inner strength these women displayed.   The resilience of the entrepreneurs featured in this book is humbling, and what’s interesting to me is they did not go it alone. They credit the support of love ones, teachers, mentors and coaches with giving them the strength and guidance to overcome their circumstances.   If you are an entrepreneur, or consider yourself a “survivor” in any way, this book is for you. Prepare to be lifted up! ”

“Rarely does a book find a way not only to take you on a personal life-changing journey, but also is able to give you shining examples of those who have gone before, to serve as guideposts shining their wisdom for you to light the pathway “Home.”  This is such a book.  As you read each woman’s journey, you will see with greater depth and understanding, the sacred journey within.” Rose Cole, CNC, CNHP Natural health and nutrition consultant, mentor www.RoseCole.com

I was born in North Yorkshire, England in 1964, the second eldest of six girls. I have lived in Bahrain, Qatar, France and Holland, while raising my family (Beth 16, Alice 13, and Jonny 11). My first career was social work but travelling has given me opportunities to develop more entrepreneurial means of earning an income. My rollercoaster life, including successfully surviving childhood abuse, cancer and traumatic bereavement, has helped me learn to truly savour sunny hours.

Ann Mitchell

Ann’s Story: From crippling loss to healing and success

About Me

After reading my story I hope you will applaud my tenacity, especially in holding on to the belief that ‘I will be OK’. We all have many roles in life and are many things to many people; my proudest roles are as mum and grandmother. My children and grandchildren are my joy and I consider myself blessed.

Born in St Andrews (the home of golf), Scotland, enjoying an outdoor, stress-free childhood on a farm, I was an only child. Were they here today, I hope my wonderful, intelligent mother and very strict disciplinarian father, both of whom shaped the woman I have become, would be proud of my achievements after enormous upheaval and heartbreak.

I help small to medium-sized organisations run their businesses more effectively, lifting the weight from their shoulders and doing business management, bookkeeping, administration, PA and secretarial services: all the backroom ‘stuff’ that blocks the flow of revenue.

Dr Janet Orion

Janet’s story: From pain, grief and loss to freedom

About Me

I am a natural medicine woman, a sort of fairy godmother, health intuitive, change agent and spiritual mentor for cultural creatives on the verge of greatness. For most of us, dramatic changes feel like labor and delivery without any preparation or support. With all the amazing tools for transformation available – some so simple we might overlook them – we shift all that seeming drama into the miraculous.

I take people on inner journeys through the power of breathing, exploring, inquiring: finding real solutions to life’s challenges. We explore simple keys to freedom, health, happiness and trust. The muscle-testing I learned decades ago and the dowsing I teach my clients help us zero-in on what’s really happening and make the best choices as we navigate life’s circumstances. I coach people via Skype video to find the God-Source within, leave pain and access the gain that is available. I currently live in Los Angeles, back for the second time after living in lots of great places in my life.  I have no children and I am single and available for a soulmate relationship.

May Moore

May’s Story: From Professional Crossroads to a Different Economics

About Me

My story is all about ‘the journey’.  The passion for travel and discovery puts me in the category of ‘archaeological-detective’, but, for me, the desire is not to unearth things or artefacts, but people and places. The places? Too many to mention, but all of them mini-voyages contributing to the wider picture.

As a trained lawyer and lecturer to international students in European law, corporate social responsibility and business ethics, I relish the daily contact with so many different cultures.

I campaign to change laws and am currently involved in arguments to change elderly care in the UK. I now live with my partner, who allowed me to share his fabulous children – that too, a voyage of its own standing!

Jo Dodds

Jo’s Story: From Natural Networker to Social Media Specialist

About Me

After many years in the Retail HR ‘corporate world’, I started my own small business in August 2005, publishing a local community magazine in my home town. I expanded the business over the following three years to include, at one stage, eight local magazines.

I still publish the Hythe Handbook with a distribution of 9,000 on a bi-monthly basis, but my main focus now is on helping solopreneurs and small business owners get their business online using a social media model, which generates more leads, prospects and customers through search engine optimisation, blogging, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube. I live with my husband and five-year-old daughter, and next door to my in-laws, in Hythe, Kent. I love reading and I play netball and the bassoon, but not at the same time!

“Any entrepreneur knows that when you take that risk to do what you love, there are days when you want to give up. Inspiring stories, like the amazing ones in this book, are what keep you going when all logic tells you to stop. This collection of tales of obstacles and overcoming is these women’s generous gift to you; read it often and you will be inspired to reach levels in your business you previous thought impossible.”
